 Coronado Wrestling Wrestle Off's

1. ALL wrestle off's will be held at the sole discretion of the head coach working in concert with the other coaches in the room.
2. The Head Coach will take a number of things into consideration: what is best for the team, attendance at practice, sickness and/or injuries, personal attitude and work ethic, etc when a wrestler wants to wrestle off for a position.
3. While wrestle off's are a typical part of the process for determining who will wrestle with the "A" team they are not to be understood as a given as there are other factors that the coaching staff will take into consideration.
4. The Head Coach and coaching staff are best suited to know who is wrestling at what level at any given time during the season and parents are urged to be supportive of their decisions.
5. High School wrestling is a lot about character building. Overcoming adversity it just part of the sport and part of growing up. If you, as a parent, encourage your wrestlers to take their losses as a challenge to take it to the next level losing a wrestle off or not being given the opportunity to wrestle off will just be a stepping stone to success for them. Your attitude as a parent will make the difference.
The Coaching staff is making every effort to assure fairness in the wrestle off's. Currently all wrestle off's are being held in the presence of at least two coaches and a scorekeeper. Other wrestlers and parents are not permitted in the wrestling room at this time.
If you do run into problems please contact Coach Brickell for Varsity and Coach Lagergren for JV.
